The social foundations

There are twelve social boundaries which have been drawn from the UN sustainable development goals. Failing to meet these boundaries means that there are humans falling short on life’s essentials.

Income and work

Promote inclusive and sustainable employment and decent work for all.
Networks

Access to networks – of transport, of communications, and of community support.
Peace and justice

Peaceful and inclusive societies which provide access to justice for all.
Political voice

People have voice in, and influence over, decisions that affect their lives.
Social equity

Equality of opportunity within and amongst countries.
Water
